Communication with the Saphir regulator by the Siemens company

The Saphir programmable universal regulators by the Siemens company support multiple types of communication, depending on the regulator type (for example ACX32, ACX34, ACX36, ACC88) and possibly on the types of add on cards.

Communication by Modbus protocol

Some Saphir regulator types (e.g. ACX36) support the communication by the Modbus protocol. For this communication in the PROMOTIC system can be used: PmModbusMr - Driver for communication by the Modbus Master protocol.
For easy integration of this driver into the application it is handy to use:

Communication via the OPC interface

The ACX52.22 add on card has the Ethernet interface with implemented OPC interface. Then the PROMOTIC application will communicate as a client by the OPC interface, i.e. by the PmOpcClient object, the PROMOTIC will be connected to the OPC server and thus communicate with the devices.

Using the PROMOTIC OPC client component is bound to purchase of the PmOpcClient license. With the freeware version PmFree, or when developing the application (with development environment for tersting purposes), this component is always functional.

Additional communication options

The Saphir regulators and add on cards enable additional communication options For example:
- the KNX protocol (e.g. the ACX51.21 add on card).
- the LON protocol (e.g. the ACX51.25 add on card).
- the BACnet protocol (e.g. the ACX52.22 add on card).
