Communication in LonWorks networks

The standard LON (Local Operating Network) was developed in early 90's by the U.S. company Echelon as an universal and cheap communication connection for all possible technical solutions on the lowest automation level. The used protocol is called LonTalk and the whole technique is called as LonWorks.

For communication of the PROMOTIC application over LonWorks, the following possibilities, for example, can be used:

Converter to RS232

The SAMO company (http://samo.sk, Slovakia) supplies the LW232 module that realizes the connection of PC with the LonWorks network by the serial link RS232. PmNET0 - Driver for communication by the NET0 protocol is used on the side of the PROMOTIC application.
