Communication with PLC devices by the Johnson Controls company

The communication by the BACnet protocol

For example the programmable regulators FEC/FAC communicate by this protocol.

As the most suitable solution for communication by BACnet protocol in the PROMOTIC application, is used the PROMOTIC driver:
PmBACnet - Driver for communication by the BACnet protocol

For easy integration of this driver into the application it is handy to use: Preconfiguration "PmBACnet - Communication set with data and panel for non-defined device".

The communication by the N2Bus protocol

For communication of the PROMOTIC application with Johnson Controls PLC devices by this protocol an ActiveX driver was created. The driver is determined for communication via the computer's serial port.

The driver supports the following types of controllers: DX9100 (8454 and 8154, even time programs can be edited), TC91xx, XT and XTM, DR9100, DC9100.

The driver supports up to 6 COM ports. It is suitable for applications where, for example, the number of controllers on one bus is too high and the communication is slowed down.
If the driver is not registered, then it runs in the DEMO mode. DEMO provides real values only in limited time (30 minutes). After this time it provides only 0 instead of real values. After restart it provides correct values again.

Trade terms:
The usage of the PmaActiveX object requires purchase of the "PmDllActiveX" licence. When developing the application in the freeware mode PmFree, or with development environment and while testing it in runtime, this component is always functional.
