Communication with meters and regulators by the Orbit Merret company

The Orbit Merret, spol. s r.o. company (http://www.merret.cz, Czechia) develops, manufactures, services and sells the digital manel measurement devices, converters and sensors.

The devices by the Orbit Merret company support communication by the Modbus protocol or a simple ASCII protocol. This goes, for example, for the following devices:
- PLC OMC 8000
- Multifunction input OM 402/502/602 with 4/5/6-character display
- 4-character universal PID regulator OM 402PID


Communication by the Modbus protocol

For this communication in the PROMOTIC system can be used:
- PmModbusMr - Driver for communication by the Modbus Master protocol.
For easy integration of this driver into the application it is handy to use:
- Preconfiguration "PmModbusMr - Communication set with data and panel for non-defined device"
- The listed devices support Modbus RTU protocol with default communication parameters:
- Number data bits: 8
- Parity: NO
- Number of stop bits: 1
- PLC OMC 8000 also supports the Modbus TCP/IP protocol.
- The whole shared memory is separated into holding registers 4xxxx with following addressing:
Register 40001 corresponds to address 0000 in command and in shared memory.
Register 40002 corresponds to address 0001 in command a to address %MW3.2 in shared memory.
Register 40003 corresponds to address 0002 in command a to address %MW3.4 in shared memory. etc.
- The data can be read/written by the following MODBUS functions:
- Functions for reading:
03-Read Holding Registers (Read Output Registers)
- Functions for writing:
06-Preset Single Register (Write 1 Register)
16-Preset Multiple Registers (Write n Registers)


Communication by the ASCII protocol

For this communication in the PROMOTIC system can be used:
- PmChar - Driver for communication by user defined ASCII/BIN protocol.
For easy integration of this driver into the application it is handy to use:
- Preconfigurations in group "PmChar configurable protocol"
