eWON Flexy and eWON CD of the 4000 family can also log the data locally (as datalogger). It is possible to keep log of more than 1 million values with a timestamp.
Reading current data is possible if the PROMOTIC application runs in common local network with the eWON device, or if the eWON device is directly visible on the Internet (unsecure communication), or if the eWON device is connected via VPN (secure communication managed by the eCatcher software).
This way of data reading from eWON router appears to be the simplest option. In order to make this work, it is necessary to configure the Modbus TCP server in the eWON router. Visibility of each eWON tag via Modbus TCP must be enabled (in "Tag visibility" section) and corresponding registry address must be set.
For reading realtime data by the Modbus TCP protocol it is handy to use the preconfiguration:
The EBD (Export Block Descriptor) can be used in order to read online (and also historical) data from the eWON device. The data is read in CSV format.
For reading realtime data by the HTTP protocol it is handy to use the preconfiguration:
Historical data can be read both localy and remotely. The eWON device can also save the data into a public cloud service by using the Talk2M internet service or into its own cloud managed by the eFive VPN Server.
The EBD (Export Block Descriptor) can be used in order to read historical (and also online) data. The data is read in CSV format.
For reading historical data by the HTTP protocol it is handy to use the preconfiguration:
The DataMailbox Web API can be used in order to read historical data from Talk2M cloud in JSON format.
For reading offline data from Talk2M cloud it is handy to use the preconfiguration:
The M2Web API allows to read and write on-line data into devices connected to Talk2M cloud.
For reading on-line data and writing into devices connected to Talk2M cloud with M2Web API interface it is handy to use the preconfiguration:
