KNX protocol data types (Datapoint Types)

The following table lists the KNX data types (KNX Datapoint Type).

Each type also has a corresponding data type of the PROMOTIC system into which the the PmKNX communication driver transforms the type.

Note 1: In order to get the correct interpretation, the value must be multiplied by coeficient k, if it is defined in the table for corresponding KNX Datapoint Type.
Note 2: Each table entry of PROMOTIC String data type means a HexaString. It can then be processed e.g. by means of the PmBuffer object (see the PmBuffer.SetHexaString method).
Note 3: In the table e.g. A₄ is a 4-bit word, B₈ is an 8-bit word, C₁ is a single bit. The possible range of values is indicated by [], the list of values by {}.
