Communication with devices from the VIPA company

The German company VIPA (www.vipa.de) is a manufacturer of operator panels and control systems programmable by STEP7 software. The communication interface and programming environment is fully compatible with Simatic PLCs. The control systems of the 300S series are equipped with SPEED7 technology chips. Thenks to the SPEED7 technology, the 300S series is the faststest cathegory of control systems in the world, that are programmable by the Siemens STEP7 software.

The memory for program and data is integrated into the SPEED7 CPU in 300S series, therefore the CPUs can be operated without any additional memory. Depending on the CPU type, the memory can be extended by VIPA memory cards up to 8 MByte. All 300S CPU systems are equipped with Ethernet interface for PU/OP communication. The CP343 interface for TCP/IP communication is integratedinto the ‘NET’ CPU. The compact SPEED7 CPUs with integrated I/O units are suitable for low-cost applications. Thaks to the high performance and extendable memory, the 300S system is especially suitable for medium and high demanding applications.
