Communication with Telemecanique PLC devices

For the communication of the PROMOTIC application with the Telemecanique devices from the Schneider-Electric company (www.schneider-electric.com), the following methods can be used:
 

Communication by Modbus protocol

The Telemecanique devices support the communication by the Modbus protocol.

For this communication in the PROMOTIC system can be used: PmModbusMr - Driver for communication by Modbus Master protocol.

For easy integration of this driver into the application it is handy to use:
For this driver, it is recommended to set the configurators:
- PmCommData > Parameters > Special Parameters > Area base addresses:
- base address "Bo = Coil/output bits" = 1
- base address "Bi = Input bits" = 10001
- base address "Ro = Holding/output registers" = 40001
- base address "Ri = Input registers" = 30001
- PmCommData > Parameters > Special Parameters > Max.number of variables received in one message:
- max.number "Bo = Coil/output bits" = 64
- max.number "Bi = Input bits" = 64
- max.number "Ro = Holding/output registers" = 32
- max.number "Ri = Input registers" = 32

Communication by OPC server

An OPC server (e.g. from the Schneider-Electric company) and the PmOPCClient PROMOTIC component can also be used for these PLC's. Then the PROMOTIC application will communicate as a client by the OPC interface, i.e. by the PmOpcClient object, the PROMOTIC will be connected to the OPC server and thus communicate with the devices.
