Preconfigurations PmModbusMr - Emerson Smart Whireless Gateway modules (Modbus TCP/IP) - Communication set with data and panel

Communication by the Modbus TCP/IP protocol with Emerson device

The preconfiguration creates data statically connected to the time values in fixed address space of the Wireless Gateway. And the data of a single device that is connected to the device on defined Modbus address.

This preconfiguration can be activated when creating a new object (e.g. by "New object" in the local object menu or by pressing the Insert key after selecting the object) and is included in the group: " / Communications / Modbus protocol".

This preconfiguration can be used with the objects: PmFolder or PmRoot.

- Preconfiguration creates an object of type PmFolder containing PmComm object with PmCommData subobject and following objects: PmPanel, PmData.
- The preconfiguration is created including the panel (PmPanel object) functionality as a WEB panel.
- The panel is used for communication testing and it is not essential for the functionality.

In the PmComm object named Comm the communication parameters (Network address, ....) are set. The PmCommData object named Data includes a Parameters page where Special Parameters (See: PmModbusMr - Driver for communication by Modbus Master protocol) are defined. On the Data page, the items are imported by the data extensions of the items defined in the PmData object (See: ExtComm).

The PmPanel object is used for diplaying the settings of the communication between the application and the connected device. The caption section is included. The status and quality of the inputs and outputs of the connected device are indicated by different colours. There are three columns with PmiPanel graphic items. These items share the same dinx parameter. The parameter defines the index (order) of the data for the specific group (AI, DI, DO). The embedded items in each panel use the parameter in order to connect to the correct data source. These items display the values, names and quality according to the current status. In the digital output column, there are two ON/OFF buttons for controling the digital outputs.
These configurators can be set before the preconfiguration is created:
The name of created objectName of the object created in the application object tree. This is a system name and must not contain empty string, diacritics, spaces and the first character must not be a number.

Default: "CommEmerson"

Network addressNetwork address to which the communication will be connected. The address can be entered by both IP address (e.g. 192.168.0.15) or by name (e.g. server11).

Macro expression can be used for input (it is evaluated while the application is launching).

After this preconfiguration is created, the configurator is se to: PmComm > Settings of the Ethernet parameters > Network address
Close the connection after each transmissionThis option sets the following configurators simultaneously:

Not connect until first transfer. See: PmComm > Settings of the Ethernet parameters > Not connect until first transfer

Close connection after every transfer. See: PmComm > Settings of the Ethernet parameters > Close connection after every transfer

Communication refresh rate [ms]The time period in milliseconds to be used for reading the data by the PROMOTIC application. After this preconfiguration is created, the configurator is se to: PmCommData > Parameters > Communication refresh rate [ms]
Connected device name
The Modbus address is enetered in abbreviated form (address minus 40000), for example: the real address is 40010, but enter only 10. Single device can provide multiple values. Enter the Modbus address where the desired values are present.
Modbus address of the registry - PV Single device can provide multiple values. Enter the Modbus address where the desired values are present.
Modbus address of the registry - SV Single device can provide multiple values. Enter the Modbus address where the desired values are present.
Modbus address of the registry - TV Single device can provide multiple values. Enter the Modbus address where the desired values are present.
Modbus address of the registry - QV Single device can provide multiple values. Enter the Modbus address where the desired values are present.
Create panel "Received data"Creates a panel that monitors the statistics of communication values
Panel titleDisplayed in the panel header

If the connected device contains more than 8 inputs/outputs, then it is necessary to modify the preconfiguration for the increased count:
- add the corresponding data item into the PmData
object
- modify the added data item in ExtComm and set the corresponding ItemID
- in the panel copy the new PmiPanel and modify the value of the dinx parameter
