How to use screen keyboard for setting values by mouse (touchscreen)

The utility osk.exe (On Screen Keyboard) shows a virtual keyboard on the screen that is controlled by the mouse (touchscreen), and it is a standard accessory of the OS Windows 2000 and higher. By this it is possible to enter and edit values in panels and windows of the PROMOTIC application. The keyboard is full including special keys. It enables except other to call help, local menu, switch the language, mark text, etc. The emulation of a key press is sent to the active window. The window with the virtual keyboard is not activated after pressing the mouse button so that the repeated press of the keys sends particular chars always to the same window. The utility opens on the position where it was closed last time.

Using the virtual screen keyboard is shown in the Demo of PROMOTIC application where the keyboard can be opened/closed by the repeated press of the key OSK in the toolbar. The opening/closing the window with the virtual keyboard itself is achieved by the following script (take care the real title of the virtual keyboard window - it can be language dependent):

Opens or closes the keyboard window:
If Pm.OtherAppOper(1, "On-Screen Keyboard", 0) Then
  Pm.OtherAppOper 1, "On-Screen Keyboard", 10
Else
  Pm.CreateProcess "osk.exe", ""
End If
Opens or puts the keyboard window to foreground:
If Pm.OtherAppOper(1, "On-Screen Keyboard", 0) Then
  Pm.OtherAppOper 1, "On-Screen Keyboard", 11
Else
  Pm.CreateProcess "osk.exe", ""
End If

In Demo application of PROMOTIC system in the Next/Display keyboard and in Next/Keyboard another option is displayed, how to use mouse (touchscreen) for entering requested values into the application.
